Kirkland Overview
Kirkland Municipal Court Records
Kirkland Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. It hears misdemeanor criminal cases, gross misdemeanors, traffic infractions, and parking violations that occur within Kirkland city limits. The court also manages probation for defendants sentenced on those charges. Appeals from Kirkland Municipal Court go to King County Superior Court.
The court's probation department monitors defendants placed on supervision by a Kirkland Municipal Court judge, pro tem, or commissioner. Probation conditions may include jail time, fines, restitution, community service, and other terms set by the court. If a probationer does not follow the conditions, a violation hearing may be scheduled. Defendants ordered to complete an alcohol or drug assessment should schedule right away. Delays can make it harder to finish on time.
To search Kirkland Municipal Court cases online, use the Washington State Courts statewide portal at dw.courts.wa.gov. This free tool covers municipal, district, and superior courts across Washington. It updates daily at 3:00 a.m. Case information here is reference material. Official copies must come from the court.
