Olympia Municipal Court Records

Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a limited jurisdiction court and does not handle felonies, family law, probate, or large civil cases. Thurston County District Court
Thurston County District Court is located at Building 3, 2000 Lakeridge Dr. SW, Olympia, WA 98502. In-person, phone, and LiveChat services are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The District Court website links to an open records search at weblink.co.thurston.wa.us/DCCASES/ where anyone can search open court records by case number and law enforcement agency.
The District Court handles a wide range of matters for Olympia residents. Misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic infractions, civil cases under $100,000, protection orders, and name changes all go through this court. The court offers several services that do not require a courthouse visit. If you need to pay a traffic ticket, request a deferral or mitigation hearing, contest a ticket, or request public records, you can do all of those things without coming in person. Name change petitions can be submitted online. Petitions for protection and anti-harassment orders can also be filed online.
Text message reminders are available for upcoming court dates. The court sends reminders one week, three days, and one day before your scheduled date. Virtual Civil Motion Hearings are held on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. Schedule them by emailing the Civil Department or calling 360-754-4102. Thurston County Superior Court
Thurston County Superior Court handles felony criminal cases, civil cases over $100,000, family law, probate, and appeals from lower courts. The court is at 2000 Lakeridge Drive SW, Building 2, Olympia, WA 98502. Phone is 360-786-5560. Case searches can be done at www.co.thurston.wa.us/superiorcourt by case number, party name, or attorney name.
Fees for copies from the Superior Court are $0.50 per page for the first two pages and $0.25 for each additional page. Certified copies cost an additional $5.00. Court records can be requested in person at the Clerk's counter, by mail, or online. The Thurston County Law Library provides public access to legal resources and is a useful stop if you are researching a case on your own. If you have a felony charge from Olympia, you will find your case records at Superior Court, not the Municipal Court or District Court.
For family law matters including divorce, child custody, and child support, Thurston County Superior Court is the only court with jurisdiction. Keep in mind that the statewide search and Odyssey Portal provide reference information only. Sealed records and confidential case types will not appear. For certified copies of any Olympia court record, you must request them directly from the court that holds the official file.
